… and there we are!

After our pleasant 15 hours of flying and 26 hours without sleep we finally arrived in Lima, capital of Peru. Having a good night of sleep we started our day by going from Miraflores (district we are living in) to the centre of the city, using VERY special local mini-busses. These things are speeding through the streets like crazy … In the afternoon we met our G.A.P. guide and the other member of our group (yes the group has only three members).
Tomorrow we will see a bit more of the city and head towards Pisco, a city by the sea in the south of Lima.

And off we go …

… into our holidays! Well … it starts off with roughly 15 hours in different planes. Going from Berlin, to Frankfurt, to Caracas and finally to Lima, Peru. But after that, three weeks of … hmm!
The figure shown roughly which way we are going …
We’ll see how many Internet-Cafés there are and how much time we want to spend in them to keep this blog updated ;)

Packed Birthday Party

Unfortunately the weather didn’t like the idea of a BBQ too much … so we had to move from the park to our beloved dwelling and do the BBQ on the balcony (thanks to Marc for that).
Still I (and I guess the others too) had a very nice belated birthday party :) that filled up our flat good …
Thanks to everyone for coming (or trying to), bringing stuff, leaving stuff (gifts … hehe) and helping with stuff …

We also did the awards ceremony with medals and documents for the IIHF World Championship ’09 betting game where Lisa made a fabulous first place, followed by my father and me … unfortunately I missed to make pictures …

Le Corbusier

This weekend I went to see the ‘Le Corbusier’ exhibition which currently resides in the Martin-Gropius-Bau in Berlin. Very nice exhibition on his art and architecture. From drawings over sketches, models to movies … a bit of everything!
Certainly worth seeing in case you like architecture …
It’s there until October 5th 2009 and costs 8 Euros (6 for students).

Shift marathon

After my first lecture and hands on sessions on Monday and Tuesday, respectively, I am about to start my validation shift for Pixel DAQ in a few minutes (15-23h). I had another training shift yesterday evening (15-23h) and will have my first three Pixel DAQ shifts for this year in the following three nights (23-7h) … and then I am dead I guess ;) … and on my way back to Berlin!
