Le Corbusier

This weekend I went to see the ‘Le Corbusier’ exhibition which currently resides in the Martin-Gropius-Bau in Berlin. Very nice exhibition on his art and architecture. From drawings over sketches, models to movies … a bit of everything!
Certainly worth seeing in case you like architecture …
It’s there until October 5th 2009 and costs 8 Euros (6 for students).

Goodbye and Hello

It’s been a tough day … saying goodbye for good to a friend that has been on my side since almost fifteen years. Only compensated by the fact that I might have gained a new friend that might follow me as long as the old one …

Therefore this post is a tribute to my old Hyundai Lantra 1.5 GLS Airbag Edition as well as welcome to my new Hyundai i30 1.6 Comfort Edition.

During the last fifteen (mainly the last eight) years I have taken my old car from central Sweden to the Mediterranean Sea from France to Czech Republic, through at least nine european countries and drove about 150000 km, without ever having any brakedown (leaving the crashes aside) … even though the old friend lost a mirror I think four times, got crached in by others at least four times and suffered some other pain we don’t want to talk about … also it got its windows smashed in twice, got bottles thrown at it and the bonnet and the roof vandalized.

Man … it’s sad!

On the other hand there’s the new friend … shiny and still smelling of the factory …
We’ll see what it will bring …

Holidays

Just a short sum up of the holidays that passed by in the last couple of weeks …

Having left Geneva on Dec 19th I dropped Johanna and Tom somewhere north of Frankfurt and after a nice evening, a good night’s sleep I continued towards Berlin …

During the days before Christmas I (unfortunately) entered the Christmas shopping world, which immediately took away the last bit of joyful anticipation towards the holidays!

Anyway after these trouble I tried to enjoy my first appointment free Chistmas eve and almost failed since I had to notice (for the first time) that shops close at times like 13h or 15h on that day … which is bad in case you need something urgently at about 18h …
Thanks to the Indian’s (who do not celebrate at this day) we managed to fill up my new dehydrating machine :) with fresh fruits and vegies in the end.

The rest of the holidays was quite relaxing and nearly as expected …

After this trouble we (being seven and a half friend and me) drove out to the Swedish outback to spend a couple of days, including New Year’s Eve, in a hut (thanks to Esben, greetz).
Besides some troubles with fuses, missing heating, dead animals and overflowing shit-tanks everything went well and we had a great time …

And now I am back for work in Zeuthen (the small village close to Berlin) …

What a weekend!!!

This weekend I was back in the city of Berlin … and the weekend was BIG and exhausting!
I started out as black hole on Friday’s Halloween Party, continued as a guide talking about the LHC and stuff for about 5h at the Weltmaschine exhibition on Saturday (after just 4h30min of sleep), watched the new Coen Brothers movie “Burn After Reading” (which was amusing as usual) and had some very nice ‘price on request’ filet steak at Escados Berlin (hmmm tasty).
On Sunday I restarted with another 5h of talking about the LHC at the exhibition and had another nice dinner …
