Copenhagen Street Soccer 2006

Woohoo!
The “Academic Soccer Players” actually made it to the second round! Rock on!
For some explanations: This weekend there is the Copenhagen Street Soccer 2006 Tournament in which Troels, Esben, some of their fellows and me are taking part. And surprisingly we made it to the second round with a fabulous 4 wins in a row series… well, we got one win, because the team ran away just before the game (what is that supposed to mean?)… anyway!

More about the final round tomorrow…

Guess what I did last weekend…

… yeah right! Sailing!
I am starting to become a sailor and make first plans for buying a boat in the (well, not so near) future. After one more exciting and relaxing sailing turn we (me and Troels) finally ended up at his place eating hamburgers and enjoying the awesome view off his roof…

Another fine sailing turn…

Another day with just too good weather to stay inside working all day long… and again my supervisor made a very spontaneous and again awesome decision… “Let’s go sailing, today!”… and so we went out for another fine sailing turn with some more members of the HEP group. This time we sailed out on his Bandholm-like sailboat called Artemis. After crusing around for a while we stopped at a beach in the north of Copenhagen and went for a swim…
just beautiful!

What it’s like to be a sailor…

picture taken from http://www.skovshovedhavn.dk/… today I at least got a bit closer to the answer to that question!
Instead of watching the France-Switzerland game I accepted Troels’ sponteaneous offer to go sailing… which in many ways turned out to be the right decision. First the game must have been somewhat boring (0:0) and second, the trip was just great… beautiful weather, windy enough to sail but not to windy to get seasick (which I was a bit afraid of)…

so just a perfect afternoon…

… unfortunately the evening (Brazil game) wasn’t as exciting…<
