Chocolate chicken stew and lots of cake

Even at lunch in the NBI canteen I learned something today … chocolate chicken stew is actually quite nice. Yes you read right, we had chocolate chicken stew in the institute canteen today!
After several year of suffering from and boycotting the DESY canteen in Zeuthen I rediscovered canteen food here Copenhagen. It’s no haute cuisine but it’s fairly good food, which is for Danish standards and compared to DESY not too expensive …

Besides that we had “cake day” at the institute as well … meaning, the whole institute met under the nice magnolia tree in front of our building and ate cake that various people brought … brownies, chocolate, blueberry and marzipan cake … had the all … hmmm

Finally done!

After quite some time we finally managed to finish an ATLAS note on some of the stuff I did during my last longer stays at CERN in 08/09: “A Summary of Thermal Measurements from the Pixel Commissioning Program” (ATL-INDET-INT-2011-003) has been approved today!

Working in Rome

Yesterday I came back from a short visit to Rome, joining the ATLAS LLP workshop to get the 2011 analyses and myself started.

Besides the very nice workshop, we had a good time doing some New York Times recommended dining at Felice a Testaccio and Da Franco Ar Vicoletto and some sight seeing in Rome at above 25 degrees …

Just for the fact book: the meeting took place at Sapienza, being the largest university in Europe with about 147.000 students.

More moving …

As it is apparently not enough to move the apartment from Berlin to Copenhagen we also moved our offices this week. Though we only moved roomes on the save level in the same building. Now I am sharing the office with the two PhD students in our little Lundbeck Foundation group at NBI. The apartment, which is by the way coming along quite well, I am still sharing only with Heike :)
