After quite some time we finally managed to finish an ATLAS note on some of the stuff I did during my last longer stays at CERN in 08/09: “A Summary of Thermal Measurements from the Pixel Commissioning Program” (ATL-INDET-INT-2011-003) has been approved today!

Family visit
Following my birthday last week (thanks to everyone who remembered and for all the presents) my parent and my sister came over for the weekend.
We went to see (amongst others) a very nice Olafur Eliasson exhibition in the Arken museum south of Copenhagen, went to Roskilde, visited Malmö on the other side of the Øresund, walked the beaches around Dragør and had a look at Charlottenlund Palace and fort.
Besides that we ha some very nice ice cream in Nyhavn and some (unfortunately not to exciting) food at Klubben (traditional Danish restaurant) and made some nice dinner ourselves on Saturday.
50 years in space
April 12th 1961: Yuri Gagarin is the first man ever to journey into outer space in his Vostok 1 capsula!
In memory of this day, an open movie called First Orbit is released today.
Working in Rome
Yesterday I came back from a short visit to Rome, joining the ATLAS LLP workshop to get the 2011 analyses and myself started.
Besides the very nice workshop, we had a good time doing some New York Times recommended dining at Felice a Testaccio and Da Franco Ar Vicoletto and some sight seeing in Rome at above 25 degrees …
Just for the fact book: the meeting took place at Sapienza, being the largest university in Europe with about 147.000 students.
