New Personal Bowling Record

Even though or probably just because the weekend was kind of exhausting and didn’t offer a lot of sleep I managed to bowl a new all-time personal record.
In an amazing 9-strike game only interrupted by two very stupid open frames I made incredible 241 (in words: two hundred fourty one) points. Not being totally able to realise I increased my previous record of 222 points by almost nine percent!
With another friend increasing her record (greetz to Janine) and a personal daily average of 197 (191, 178, 241, 178) this was kind of a good evening for us :-)

Bowling stats to be found here :-)

First Sponsorship Day 2007 + Rugby World Cup Final

Today was our first “Sponsorship Day 2007”: a celebration for everyone giving financial support to our acquisitions related to our new flat!
Roughly half a year ago we asked people to take a sponsorship for one (or more) of our furnitures. And today we had a little dedication party for those guys ;-)
An idea inspired by the Berlin Museum of Natural History and it’s sponsorship program (German webpage).
Btw. there are still objects looking for a sponsor or a personal godfather if you like…

Afterwards we watched the Rugby World Cup Final (England vs. South Africa) along with a number of people not being able to state a single rule in rugby… but hey, you gotta be open minded!

New faces

(700x1000mm each)

Meet “Walter”, “The Dude” and “Donny” … guys/pictures now decorating our hallway, inspired by/stolen from Thierry Noir.
He painted his “Mauer-Eierköpfe” (Berlin Wall Egg-Heads) on the Berlin wall starting 1990, I painted our’s this weekend ;-).
These were still not the last frames to be filled in our “new” flat …

I am the new Godfather

Yes… you read right! You are reading the blog of the new Godfather…
to be a bit more precise, I am the new Godfather for little Luise, the daughter of two friends of mine (greetz!), who in an insane moment decided that I would be a good guide for poor little Luise… ha! well joke aside! I’m actually be BIT proud… *bigsmile*

German bureaucracy and the trouble about my badminton class

I just got some incredibly stupid piece of information…
As some of you might know I was/am struggling to set up my badminton class, after coming back to Berlin… to remind you, this happened in March!

Well… here’s the whole story wrapped up:

  1. some stupid janitor removed all the barriers I put in front of the fire exit, that were supposed to prevent even more stupid people to get into the gym
  2. some even more stupid people now found their way into the gym (how did that happen?) and put up a fire in it…
  3. some very surprised bureaucrats decided to take down the gym
  4. again some bureaucrats go surprised, this time because they found out that they actually had an insurance that would cover all that sh**
  5. the gym got reconstructed, reopened and closed just one day after, due to some broken water pipe now flooding the gym
  6. again some bureaucrats found out that they actually have an insurance
  7. the gym got reconstructed again
  8. of course it got reopened as well, but
  9. and that’s the best part: the local government decided that 20 gyms in the area have to be taken down… and guess what!

Is there anyone out there that can explain these kind of things to me?

btw. sorry to all badminton fans out there, but I am trying hard to set things up again… but you have wait some more days!
