Well the first two weeks (with a little break though) are already over … I am slowly settling in Geneva and at CERN … quite a few new things that came up during these weeks … and quite some work, man! But its cool … ;) Here’s two pictures of the Globe in yesterday’s fine Geneva morning fog and of my office (I sit on the left side) at CERN. Btw the weather got really nice later the day … it often starts shitty like this …
Just one week after my arrival in Geneva I already got myself a nice little pet. I found I cute little annoying tick at the back of my left knee … dammit! Here’s the little bastard that now graces our whiteboard in 32 2-A18 …
Three weeks is not very much if you look at it afterwards… but it has been great to be back at CERN and Geneva!
And as if Geneva wanted to say goodbye the weather turned back to sunshine after almost a week of clouds and rain…
On Friday we had a dinner party “Chez Troels” along with a number of 2007 CERN Summer Students, talking, discussing, enjoying the sunset on the roof, and so on… it was very nice and brought back my summer student memories… I guess I could easily do it again… hmmmm!
Anyhow… Saturday started pretty slow… with a little breakfast and lunch at Bains de Paquis, on of the Geneva beaches, along with probably one of the best view of Mont Blanc I ever had… just perfect!
After lunch I met Gareth who had just arrived the day before and had some good smalltalking… another reminder of the good old time! Unfortunately we only had some little while since I had to catch my flight back home… which btw. was delayed by an hour…
the sky was dark, it was raining cats’n’dogs, the pitch was a mess and still we had a great game… we scored more goals and still lost the game… by scoring two own goals (it wasn’t me) and missing a penalty we were just to kind to our opponents… but it was great though, we looked like sh** after the game!
Another time I went up Le Salève to enjoy the beautiful view on Geneva, the Jura mountains and the Alps… unfortunately it was a bit too cloudy to see all of the latter ones.
