Encyclopedia of the Unknowingness

Please don’t be shocked, but yes this is arleady the second post about a book in kind a short time (at least for normal Sascha-like behaviour)…
The Encyclopedia of the Unknowingness, unfortunately only available in German (“Lexikon des Unwissens”) so far, tries to describe several of today’s unsolved miracles.
It gives an introduction to subjects like the lifecycle of eels, dark matter, yawning, ball-lightnings, the functionality of sticky tape, the Riemann hypothesis, and many more…
A bit too many “funny” comments in my opinion though… otherwise very interesting!

Measuring the World

In the same manner as I use to comment movies I’ve seen I am gonna start it for books now, even though this will happen by far less often.
Anyway… During my holidays in Greece I read a book written by Daniel Kehlmann called “Measuring the World”.
It’s I nice book about Mr. Gauss (the one with the distribution, etc.) and Mr. Humboldt (the brother of the founder of my university) that Troels recommended to read.
It’s originally a German book, that’s why the picture/link is German. For all others heres the English link even though it’s on the German Amazon.
