Looks like I found a place to stay for the rest of my three months at CERN today.
A place in Thoiry shared with the owner of the house.
And I can see the top of Europe, the Mt. Blanc, and the lake from my window … ahh!

I just arrived at CERN … after the usual two day trip, this time staying at a friend’s place in Darmstadt (greetz to Daniel), I just checked in to the St. Genis Hostel of CERN … which is sh** but will be my home for the next couple of days I as it seems …
Just about now, at 14:00, CERN and probably some more institutions and people are celebrating the 20th birthday of what is known as the WorldWideWeb these days.
In March 1989 Tim Berners-Lee handed in his first proposal for what was the basis of the WWW to his bosses at CERN.
The whole story can be found here and the original proposal is linked here.
Happy Birthday!
And thanks Mr. Berners-Lee.
You can get a glimpse of the larges experiment ever build by mankind in the new Angels & Demons trailer … watch out for the 42nd second! (42 you understand!?)
Finally the ATLAS book is out … with amazing 2604 authors on the list and about 1900 pages its quite a monstrous publication, but hey its also the larges experiment ever build by mankind ;)
Anyway … I myself took part in the sections on triggering (selecting) events containing top quarks.
