Toki Tori

Toki Tori is a tricky and fun little 2D puzzle-platformer that’s been around since the Game Boy Color and has recently found its way back onto my gaming list.

In the game, you have to guide a young chick, Toki Tori, to save its unhatched younger siblings. To do this, you can use six different abilities, sometimes limited in the number of times they can be used in each level, to master five different worlds, each with its own features, looks and obstacles.

Some of the puzzles really did cost me a few nerves, but it was quite a throwback and a lot of fun. Which now brings me (back) to Toki Tori 2+ …

Unbound: Worlds Apart

Unbound: Worlds Apart is a fantastic, extremely well made and extremely challenging (for me at least) 2D puzzle platformer in which you guide a mage called Soli through a maze of puzzles using different types of portals and abilities.
The graphics are great, the soundtrack is great, but it did cost me some nerves as some of the challenges were annoyingly hard and here and there it needed the support of the next generation.

All in all, a wonderful game with great gameplay that’s a lot of fun to play (despite the difficulties I had). Definitely a recommendation, especially if you like games like Ori.

GRIS

GRIS is an extremely beautiful and relaxing 2D platform adventure game in which you guide the female protagonist through various puzzles in different worlds, learning more and more skills as you go.
A touching story combined with gorgeously drawn and designed levels, as well as perfectly matched and well-crafted soundscapes and soundtrack, made this game an extreme pleasure to play.
I highly recommend playing GRIS if you like casual platformers and just want to have a good time.

SILT

Silt is a puzzle-adventure game set in a very dark underwater world, where by taking control of other sea creatures, the player has to guide a diver through dangerous and mysterious mazes.

A nice idea and an interesting gameplay idea and certainly entertaining!
