Addendum in movies

Due to my recent illness I completely forgot to write posts about some of the movies I have seen recently …

We started out with “Bladerunner” … a classic by Ridley Scott with Harrison Ford based on the book “Do Androids Dream Of Electric Sheep?” (see previous post) by Philip K. Dick … old (and one always has to get used to it again) but nice movie …

Next one was the “The Bucket List” with Jack Nicholson and Morgan Freeman as two old guys at the end of their lives trying to do as many of the things they always wanted to do but never did … unfortunately kinda lame movie …

And the last one was “L’ Auberge Espagnole” … a movie about some strange economics student and his Erasmus year in Barcelona … unfortunately not really to recommend, just as the previous one …

Well, sometimes you’re lucky and sometimes you’re not … let’s hope we’re more lucky with the next one …

Movie Night 3

What a night … yesterday we had another game day in our little foosball league.
With only two matches scheduled (even though one was a very important one, for the league and me … which was a draw btw.) we had lot of time left for movies afterwards … and we pretty much used all of it ;)
We started out with ‘Thank you for smoking’, went on with ‘Kops’ and finished the night (and us) with ‘Heat’.
All of them where great, although only the first one was new for me. It’s about a guy representing the tobacco industry and all the mess that comes around with being in such a position … really nice movie, hereby recommanded! The other two are classics already. A swedish commedy about some police station in the swedish outback that is to be closed
and its appendant officers … fun!
And of course the one and only Heat … the street fight is legendary … hmm … and DeNiro and Pacino did the rest.

Wall-E

This one has been on my list for a while and I was a bit sad having missed it in cinema … but it when browsing through my local Geneva video rental thingy I found please to find out that its already out on DVD. So off I went … and it was definitely a good choice!
Another very nice movie from Pixar … these guys just know how to get it right.
Certainly worth watching … as usual!

What a weekend!!!

This weekend I was back in the city of Berlin … and the weekend was BIG and exhausting!
I started out as black hole on Friday’s Halloween Party, continued as a guide talking about the LHC and stuff for about 5h at the Weltmaschine exhibition on Saturday (after just 4h30min of sleep), watched the new Coen Brothers movie “Burn After Reading” (which was amusing as usual) and had some very nice ‘price on request’ filet steak at Escados Berlin (hmmm tasty).
On Sunday I restarted with another 5h of talking about the LHC at the exhibition and had another nice dinner …
