Tucker & Dale vs. Evil

As we did not manage to go to any of the movies from the previous CPHPIX film festival that sounded interesting or just weird enough we made a small list instead. Yesterday we managed to tick off the first one: Tucker & Dale vs. Evil!

It won prizes on a few other festivals and … man, it was weird!

Nothing intellectual, but quite funny …

Laurent + Ben + Stephane at Berghainnnnnnnnn

Not just a collection of French names, but the given names of Mr.Garnier and his fellow DJ friends (Stephane is better know as Scan X) and their new project L.B.S. – Live Booth Sessions or Loud Bass & Samples.
Friday night (or better Saturday morning) they guested at Berghainand I joined from 0:00 to 9:00 (at had a breakfast appointment at 10:00), though they were only playing from 3:00 to 8:30.
Man that was goooood.
And after a long day I had quite a good sleep tonight … finally!

Go with the flow

We spontaneously decided to go to the Queens of the Stone Age concert tonight at the Citadel in Berlin Spandau. Quite a nice concert … 1h30 of good music but without any specific highlight.

Synthetic Life

Creation of a Bacterial Cell Controlled by a Chemically Synthesized Genome” is the title of my current publication of the month. In the recently released paper, the transplantaion of a digitised genome sequence into a bacteria, resulting in the creation of mycoides carrying only this artificial DNA, is described.
As usual the reference can be found on my webpage.

As I missed to put the May issue online … here’s that as well:
Regression of advanced rat and human gliomas by local or systemic treatment with oncolytic parvovirus H-1 in rat models” reports on rat models testing a virus, harmless to healthy human cells but efficient in killing certain tumor cells.
And again the reference can be found on my webpage.

Enjoy reading!
