Based on the submission date of the Letter of Intend, 1 October 1992, the ATLAS Experiment will turn 25 years this autumn and I will have the pleasure to organise a live event on the actual birthday as well as an internal celebration during the Bratislava ATLAS Week in October … while getting caught in this, I noticed that, based on this calculation, I have been with ATLAS for half of its life (and a third of mine) by then.

While being at CERN last week, I stumbled into what is apparently known as a mannequin challenge. Learned something and had some fun, as you can see ay 0:13 and 0:23 :)
Gettin’ ready for the Open Day
We’re slowly getting ready for the Open Day in Garching, taking place on Saturday, 22 October 2016.
Visit us between 11 am and 6 pm or join our free screening of ‘Particle Fever‘ at 6 pm.
We’ll have a great programme, including a BYOPD event, presentations of live events and data from CERN, a cosmic-ray detector, the large ATLAS LEGO model and more …

ICHEP2016
I’m on my way to ICHEP2016 in Chicago.
Looking forward to a great conference in a great city.
I have good memories of both:
ICHEP2012 in Melbourne and Chicago, as a memorable start of a road-trip to New York.
I’ll have both physics (long-lived particles) and outreach (BYOPD) contributions for this year’s conference … let’s see how it goes :)
