No Country For Old Men

Just went to see the new Coen Brothers movie “No Country For Old Men”.
Nice piece of work, definitely worth seeing even though its a bit strange, but which of the brothers’ movies isn’t.
The plot is hard to tell im a few lines, but mainly its about some hunter finding some drug money and his trouble with the various people searching for it … and there’s some very special characters amoung them. But you better see it yourself …

Discworld – Soul Music

Just finished the 3rd book of the Discworld’s Death Novels! Another fine piece of writing by Mister Terry Pratchett. Nice story about Death, his grand-daughter, Music with Rocks In and many more things … another enjoyable one!

Annual Meeting of the German Physics Society

Yesterday I came back from the Annual Spring Meeting of the German Physics Society in Freiburg. One week of more or less interesting talks, presentations and discussions on and about particle physics. Accompanied by some stuff about gravitation, astro-physics and other subjects.
Besides some good talks in the partcile physics sessions, it turned out that the other subjects were actually the best part.
You might ask, what other subjects means … good question!
First of all it means: speakers with private addresses not affiliated with any institute or university!
Hmm, you might ask why’s that … again good question!
Well, if you see the theories/idea/experiments, you know why!
My personal favourite, a guy exlaining everything utilising the E8 group! And when I say everything I mean it, or better he does! From the amino acids, on to the origin of mass, til the description of the fundamental constants.
Simply amazing …Another guy was creating anti-gravitation using an improved version of his 12-vacuum-cleaner-engines-machine, and a third one was proving that the heat production in the earth is cause by the moon’s rotation around it, or something like that …
I actually made some movies, but they are unfortunately in German only.

The Darjeeling Limited

Another movie night, this time with
“The Darjeeling Limited”.
Funny movie about three brothers seeking ‘enlightenment’ (and their mother) in india! Of course there’s some issues between the brothers and of course there’s some trouble along their way through india (Heike could actually recognize some places *yeahiamshowingoffwithmygirlfriend*.

Live Free or Die Hard

John McClane is back with another amazing and even more unrealistic epic drama: “Live Free or Die Hard”. Just watched it last Friday.
It lacks some of the old movies’ coolness, which is mostly due to the exaggerated stunts (e.g. Jet-Fighter surfing, car-on-heli-shooting). But anyway, anything allowed for Bruce!
Probably not worth the cinema money, but still too good for a small tv-set ;-)
