I just found out that I am (at least sort of) living the “Straight-Edge“-Way-Of-Life…
Without even knowing about the existence of this “culture” I followed the principle rules quite well (even though the reasons might differ): no cigarettes, no alcohol and no recreational drug use! Even some additional commitments like abstaining from promiscuous sexual behavior and caffeine are fully or partially (this refers only to the caffeine, since cola has it too) fulfilled.
I would actually be the perfect Straight-Edger, if I just refused eating meat and listened to Hardcore Punk of some kind.
Which are “unfortunately” two things I could definitely not live with… never!
So besides these discrepancies I would be eligible for wearing a black cross tattoo on the back of my hands. Which apparently is the “sign” to identify a “real” Straight-Edger… and again another fact I just wouldn’t like…
Well… one thing I have in common with these people is the fact that many other people just do not (want to) understand…
Greetz to Thomas at this point ;-)
Guess what I did last weekend…
… yeah right! Sailing!
I am starting to become a sailor and make first plans for buying a boat in the (well, not so near) future. After one more exciting and relaxing sailing turn we (me and Troels) finally ended up at his place eating hamburgers and enjoying the awesome view off his roof…
Another fine sailing turn…
Another day with just too good weather to stay inside working all day long… and again my supervisor made a very spontaneous and again awesome decision… “Let’s go sailing, today!”… and so we went out for another fine sailing turn with some more members of the HEP group. This time we sailed out on his Bandholm-like sailboat called Artemis. After crusing around for a while we stopped at a beach in the north of Copenhagen and went for a swim…
just beautiful!
And the winner is…
a French!
And the competition: snail spitting!
Yes… right!
Just take a living snail from the beaches in the north of France, put it in your mouth and spit it out as far as you can… sounds easy (and disgusting)… reach 10.41m and get World Champion like 45 year old Alain Jourdren just did to defend his title… great isn’t it?!
I love this world…
Back again
Finally I am back in Copenhagen and online…
Horrible Internet connection/availability in Strasbourg… anyway!
The school was nice… even though it can’t reach the CERN one… also due to the lack of PPJB
btw I met some people from CERN during the school, like Susanne (GER), Laura (GER) and of course Katrin (DK)…
I managed to get all the stats for the World Cup Gamble done and now I am just waiting for the winners to get their prizes… ;-) Congrats to Shaun, Heike, Katrin and hansaspieler!
Now I am fighting myself through a big pile of emails in my accounts from the last two weeks…
damit… being offline really stinks… how can people manage?
Somehow I get the fealing I am an Internet addict?! nevermind… could be worse!
Now I need some sleep…
