Today the board of the Faculty of Physics at LMU Munich accepted my “Antrag auf Annahme als Habilitand“.
Not much time to write more … gotta go back to teaching, doing physics, writing papers and wrapping it up to get to the next step ;)
Honour & Glory
It’s time for this year’s (major) Honour & Glory event – EURO2016 is starting in a few days!
Remember to check your account and place your bets before the matches start!
The bets and some stats and plots will be visible right after kickoff and I’ll do my best to put in results quickly.

Building yet another one down under
Looks like I’ll have the chance to build yet another Atlas Lego model in Australia this summer.
Thanks to COEPP and the Powerhouse Museum, I’ll be in Sydney in August to build an Atlas Lego model with students as part of the Sydney Science Festival (FB) / National Science Week in Australia.
During the two-day event we’ll also have public sessions for visitors to build Nathan’s LHC micro models and the finished large model will be part of the CERN Collider exhibition hosted in the same place from 6 August to 30 October 2016.

Wildlife vs. science
CERN has confirmed that apparently a beech marten has caused “a short circuit in one of the electrical transformers [and] cut power to the LHC”.
And just because I heard the comment/joke twice already (sorry it’s in German, thx Basti) … das Tier war offensichtlich ein Selbstmarder :|
Brighton
ATLAS SUSY workshop and a bit of spare time in Brighton last week. Unfortunately the weather was best on the days of the workshop and real British during my last day.
Anyways … workshop and hotel where nice, I found two caches and spotted some number plates ;)
