Updates on the unknown

CDF (one of the collider experiments at Fermilab) has just presented another update on their April paper on the invariant mass distribution of jet pairs produced in association with a W boson. In the latter one they discussed an excess in the 120-160 GeV/c^2 mass range with a significance of 3.2 sigma. They do not dare to give an exact number but claim to be closer to 5 sigma now!?

Unfortunately, though announced several times, the D0 collaboration has not published any similar analysis yet…

Also the result is not backed by all members of the collaboration …
so it remains exciting and CDF still owes us a good explanation …

The Town

This weekend’s movie of choice: The Town.

Quite a nice movie about bank robbers in Charlestown, Boston, starring and directed by Ben Affleck.

Certainly a good choice if you like your Saturday night action movie ;)

And once again the online streaming video store that comes with our set-top-box has saved us the way through the ‘beautiful’ rainy Copenhagen weather we had on Saturday evening …

Tucker & Dale vs. Evil

As we did not manage to go to any of the movies from the previous CPHPIX film festival that sounded interesting or just weird enough we made a small list instead. Yesterday we managed to tick off the first one: Tucker & Dale vs. Evil!

It won prizes on a few other festivals and … man, it was weird!

Nothing intellectual, but quite funny …

Gingerbread

Today I finally managed to get some gingerbread onto my Nexus mobile phone.

And yes we are talking Android versions here, not sweets!

Until now I haven’t received any update after 2.2.1 … so I finally decided to downgrade to an older but original Google firmware … and tada! … I immediately got the upgrade notice for gingerbread (being Android version 2.3.4)!

Went kinda nicely, just had to approve all previously installed applications and setup all my accounts once again.

But now I am happy on gingerbread ;)
