Röki

Röki is a very nice 3D adventure video game where you guide Tove, a young girl, through a mission to rescue her younger brother Lars from Röki, a monster from the pages of a fairy tale.

In the course of her journey Tove meets many fairy tale creatures and has to solve many (not too hard) puzzles. To solve some of these puzzles, you have to switch between controlling different abilities (masks) and even characters (Tove and her father).

Röki’s plot is beautiful, rich and a little tragic, the cel-shaded graphics look nice and there are lots of little details and some hard-to-find achievements. I certainly enjoyed playing Röki.

What the Golf?

What the Golf? is simply hilarious. Not even sure how to categorise the game, but it surely is fun to play. There’s also a two-player mode, in case you want to enjoy the game in a face-off.

It’s anything but regular (mini)golf, which the name and optics might suggest, and certainly a recommendation for a few entertaining minutes in between. Enjoy …

Unbound: Worlds Apart

Unbound: Worlds Apart is a fantastic, extremely well made and extremely challenging (for me at least) 2D puzzle platformer in which you guide a mage called Soli through a maze of puzzles using different types of portals and abilities.
The graphics are great, the soundtrack is great, but it did cost me some nerves as some of the challenges were annoyingly hard and here and there it needed the support of the next generation.

All in all, a wonderful game with great gameplay that’s a lot of fun to play (despite the difficulties I had). Definitely a recommendation, especially if you like games like Ori.

The Cave

The Cave is yet another Double Fine masterpiece created by Ron Gilbert. Even though I had this game since February 2013, I just got it out again to experience some of the alternate storyline and enjoy it once again.

In this extremely beautiful and fun game you have to guide three out of a pool of seven possible different characters through a talking cave. Yes, a talking cave. Nice gameplay, a great story – well seven, well fourteen stories in fact – lot’s of hidden gems, jokes and word plays .. as one is used to for Double Fine games :)

Certainly a recommendation!!!

It Takes Two

It Takes Two is simply fantastic!
An action-adventure platform game that covers an endless number of different game modes, activities, character capabilities, levels and challenges. It’s been extreme fun to play this in two-player mode, despite the somewhat sad story.

I/we can only recommend this game – including all the mini games. It’s worth every cent.
