Planet of Lana

Planet of Lana is a beautifully crafted 2D puzzle platformer in which you must guide a girl named Lana and her little cat-like friend in their fight against a robot army invading their home planet.

A wonderful story told without any real words, really nice graphics and a memorable soundtrack with matching soundscapes made this game a lot of fun to play. Maybe not the hardest puzzles and not the longest game, but I am very happy to have found this gem.

Unbound: Worlds Apart

Unbound: Worlds Apart is a fantastic, extremely well made and extremely challenging (for me at least) 2D puzzle platformer in which you guide a mage called Soli through a maze of puzzles using different types of portals and abilities.
The graphics are great, the soundtrack is great, but it did cost me some nerves as some of the challenges were annoyingly hard and here and there it needed the support of the next generation.

All in all, a wonderful game with great gameplay that’s a lot of fun to play (despite the difficulties I had). Definitely a recommendation, especially if you like games like Ori.

Max: The Curse of Brotherhood

Max: The Curse of Brotherhood is a fun puzzle-platform video game where you (Max) have to rescue your little brother Felix (after you have wished him away) from a weird little world full of riddles, monsters and the evil lord Mustacho by manipulating your surroundings using a truly magical marker. It’s been great fun and I can certainly recommend it …

Shift Happens

Shift Happens is a nice little 2D puzzle-platform game, mainly focused on its two-player coop mode. The graphics is quite basic here and there, but the gameplay and the challenges are indeed quite different and make it lots of fun to play (both in single-player and coop mode).

Little Nightmares

Little Nightmares is an absolutely beautiful and fantastic, scary, little puzzle-platform horror adventure game. Set on what looks like a strange ship, inhabited by even stranger creatures, in the main game you have to guide a litte girl in a yellow raincoat through numerous puzzles and races. The adorably crafted levels are filled with a fitting and scary soundscape and can be lit up with a lighter.
In the three available DLCs, you then guide a little boy through sometimes the same, sometimes even more scary parts of apparently the same vessel, solving even more difficult puzzles.

It’s been an absolute delight playing this game and I very much look forward to playing part two soon …
