Looks like I actually had some vacation during and between the holidays :) I got my new 16″ MacBook just before Christmas and finally some time to play a (computer) game I had on my list for ages: FEZ. It’s a beautiful, multifaceted, tricky, creative, crazy fantastic puzzle skill game done by Polytron I bought in a Humble Bundle quite some time ago. Certainly one of the best games I have played so far .. and I’ve played quite a a few (in the past).
Finally having a graphics card again (was broken on my 2010 MacBook), I might try a few more games from my (waiting) list .
And another beautiful independent game ticked off the list. Limbo is a fantastic dark 2D sidescroller puzzle jump’n’run game developed by Playdead from Copenhagen.
Once again, already bought some time ago as part of a Humble Bundle.
Just finished another very nice click-and-point adventure I once bought on Humble Bundle. Samorost 3, obviously the third part of a nice series, is another fantastic little game made by independent studio Amanita Design.
If you have a few minutes for a few days and love to solve riddles, you should give it a try …
It’s time for the sixth Humble Bundle. Well, actually it already been some time and it’s only ten days left, in case you care for nice games from independent studios were you can choose yourself what to to pay! I bought mine yesterday and already had a short session with one of the six games included.
And since I am writing about games, I’ll just go on and mention that I also got caught (for reasons I myself have not yet fully figured out) by The Simpson: Tapped Out [SaMeOrigin] and Wordfeud [SaMeWord] on my iPad recently. They work pretty well for the five minutes before going to bed or in the morning after the little one got his first dish of the day … at least the latter one also exists for Android (link).
Yet another game from the Humble Bundle that I recently finished. Braid is a really nice platform or jump-and-run game with quite a twist in it. To solve the various and diversified puzzles you have to manipulate time. By going back and forth in time; while, depending on the level, either you or part of scene do not follow; you have to find parts of an actual puzzle to grasp the story of the game.
