Fe

Fe is a beautiful and calm 3D platform adventure game where one controls a fox-like creature, Fe, on its quest to protect its forest against infestation by robot-like creatures called Silent Ones. Over time and by gathering crystals and helping out other forest animals, Fe learns new abilities and uncovers the story behind the aggressors.

I enjoyed playing the game and even though some crystals and artifacts to discover have been a bit tedious to find/reach, I’d recommend it .. if you like (somewhat) calm gaming.

ILA: A Frosty Glide

ILA: A Frosty Glide is calm and cozy cozy open-world 3D platform adventure, where one has to help little with-in-training Ila to find her cat Coco. On her journey through this little 3D world, Ila discovers new abilities, broom upgrades, new dresses and treasure chests as well as hints to where her cat has gone (in the form of foot steps and fishbones).

Fun little relaxing game to mentally shift down a gear (yet some of the objects can be a bit tedious to find) .. certainly a recommendation, if you like calm games without deadly challenges ;)

Sable

Sable is a calm and kids-friendly 3D open-world exploration and puzzle adventure game using a very peculiar comic-like graphics style. In the game, one has to control Sable, a young girl who sets out on a journey of self-discovery as she searches for an appropriate mask (profession) and returns to her nomadic clan. Exploring the ruined desert planet of Midden, Sable encounters several characters who help her find her place in the world, as well as giving her several tasks that often involve solving puzzles and platforming through rock formations or ancient ruins.

Maybe except for some small graphics bugs, some weird driving mechanics here and there, it’s been a really enjoyable and calm journey, all wrapped in a nice little story .. kind of like playing a nice book.

Tall Trails

Tall Trails was my cosy Christmas game for 2025. It’s certainly not a triple-A game, but it’s a fun and quick open-world exploration game in which you have to guide Alp, a little golem, on a quest to find his purpose.

You can (and have to) climb peaks (and sometimes weird/random objects), collect items and unlock different looks, styles and abilities in either a predefined standard world or randomly generated worlds. To collect all achievements, you will need to play multiple worlds.

As said, it’s simple yet fun, and therefore still recommended.

Caravan SandWitch

Caravan SandWitch is a relaxing, calm and enjoyable open world-adventure where one has to guide main character Sauge through a post-apocalyptic world on her quest to find her missing sister, Garance.

If you are in need to solve some not-too-hard puzzles walking and driving around in a beautifully designed and peaceful (you cannot die in the game) animated world, then this is your game … enjoy (I did)!
