While the 2022 FIFA World Cup ended in a thrilling final between Argentina and France and the winner was uncertain until the very end, the winner of this year’s H&G World Cup betting game was already decided in the small final between Croatia and Morocco.
So congratulations to both Argentina and Troels for winning the 2022 FIFA World Cup ;)
The second and especially the third place in H&G, on the other hand, were exciting and undecided till the very end. Congratulations to Katrin and Lea, securing second and third place in the end.
The trophies – this time in a special human-rights edition – will soon find their way to all winners.
You can find all the stats and standings here (also a scoreboard, if you prefer) and also the football all-time stats have been updated.
Thanks to everyone for taking part and see you next time …
I was just made aware that my 2020 virtual tour of the ATLAS Experiment filmed in 360° view has reached just above 30k views on YouTube.
Great to see that all the up and down in the cavern, spanning twelve levels and endless camera positions, apparently was worth the effort :)
For those of you that prefer a German tour: here you go, I made one just for you as well.
And if you like science videos (in German), also have a look at my German edit of the Belle II video. They both could still need a few more views 😜

Last week, I joined my first “International Conference for High Performance Computing, Networking, Storage, and Analysis” (SC25) , representing Munich Quantum Valley (MQV) and showcasing our activities together with the Leibniz Supercomputing Centre (LRZ) at their booth.

We spent the last two weeks, and part of the summer holidays, in Italy ..
Passing by Lake Garda, we spent one night close to Verona, to then cross the Po plain, have a hiking stop at the Stone of Bismantova and cross the Ligurian Apennines to get to La Spezia.
