Berlin Calling ²

After watching the movie in an open-air cinema about a week ago I now went for the real deal …
Mr. Paul Kalkbrenner (main actor in the movie) was playing at l’Usine in Geneva … hmmm!
And it was great … actually the movie was nice as well!
Unfortunately I had to leave a bit earlier (~4 am) to be at least a bit prepared for my weekly Sunday hike …
There is also a nice soundtrack for the movie …

Immergut Festival

This weekend was festival weekend … Immergut Festival!
Second time on this small festival with only about 5000 visitors each year … but in this case the fraction of friends (greetz) on the festival is higher :)
Some very nice but non-major bands … and of course camping, a lot of BBQs and portable toilets!
Was great fun …

Pictures are as usual in the internal part of my gallery …

Hiking up Le Mole

On Sunday I had a very nice hike 6h30 up to Le Mole. You can see some part of the extremely nice view from the peak of the mountain.
Besides all the fun, I had to learn (even though one could have guess before) that a single yoghurt for breakfast is not enough for doing a hike like this … hmm! … and I can still feal the way down in my knees … but it was certainly worth it :|
More pictures are in my gallery …

Science & Fiction

Had a bit of both today … after having had a short glimps of the real ATLAS detector I went to see the fiction version of it in the new Angels and Demons movie in theatres.
Quite a contrast I have to say …
But despite the mixed-up science especially in the beginning (featuring actors like ATLAS, CERN, LHC, …) … it is quite a nice movie …
I only fear a little that the outreach committees in particle physics might have a bit more work during the upcoming weeks …
